Tuvalu floods

Floods

My General Statement:

Tuvalu faces a potential long-term threat from permanent damage  and wave-driven flooding.

What Happened:

A flood hit Tuvalu and all the land.Tuvalu is slowly starting to disappear and soon it will become non-existent, Soon there will be no such thing as Tuvalu as in the island itself.

(Scientists say the island will disappear in a few years)

The Cause:

People say the flood started due to climate change and the rising sea levels and then other people think it happens when the drains get blocked and start to overflow but I think Tuvalu is sinking because Tuvalu is a very flat island and it would be easy for water to wash over it but that’s just what I think.

Damage and Cost:

I think that the cost in the future will be very high because if the government was to pay for everyone’s houses and furniture wrecked in the flood that would end up being around  a couple thousands dollars each village which is 9 villages altogether and I’m guessing that will round up to around 1-2 million Dollars.

Rescue/Search:

Tuvalu is working on a plan for the future called the Tuvalu Coastal Adaptation Project. Detailed scientific assessments, including the one just released by NASA, as well as increased monitoring of sea level change around the islands can enhance that effort.

Summary:

The citizens of Tuvalu are now trying to figure out any type of solution for their island to be saved from this long flood. They are  trying to seek rescue or help  their family and friends overseas or even just some people willing to donate money  for them to replace their houses or even just their land that they live on.

This is my report writing about the floods in Tuvalu, I got the idea because one of my friends because she hasn’t been to her home Island for 9 years and is really missing Tuvalu and is hoping her family and her self can go for a trip to Tuvalu before its too late and the island dissapears.
